Neighbours Invited to Help Plan Re-Development
Cool Aid wants to understand the community’s concerns and aspirations in regards to the redevelopment of 3020 Douglas Street (the former Tally Ho site), so that the final design can best reflect neighbourhood and Cool Aid interests. We welcome all local residents to attend our second working session on Shaping the vision for 3020 Douglas together:
- Please join us on Saturday, May 5 from 1-4 pm, at an Open House to see the renovated Tally Ho and the latest plans for redevelopment

Through these consultations, Cool Aid is providing a unique opportunity for community members to have meaningful influence into the design and commercial amenities for this new development.
Cool Aid’s interest in this level of community engagement is part of our commitment as an active and contributing member of the Burnside Gorge community. We have a vested interest in supporting community economic development in Burnside Gorge for the benefit of our residents and staff living and working in the area.
The entire 3020 Douglas site will be developed in two phases with the rear portion fronting on Burnside to be developed as Phase One. Phase One will be comprised of 52 supportive housing units and the additional residential density could mean another 80-90 units of affordable rental housing. An additional 56,000 square ft of commercial space is allowable as part of Phase One. The design process and further due diligence undertaken between now and April will confirm the density that we will ultimately achieve on the site.
3020 Douglas is part of an area under transition. This project will introduce higher density residential which will animate the area and benefit the community in terms of increased local economic activity.
Help Cool Aid plan what comes next.
