Cool Aid Seasonal Shelter

This winter, the Province of British Columbia is again funding the Cool Aid Seasonal Shelter, hosted by the Downtown Community Centre at 755 Pandora Avenue.

The Cool Aid Seasonal Shelter supports up to 40 adults each night who are homeless; on mats in the gymnasium. The Seasonal Shelter operates every night of the week from November 1 to March 31, from 9 pm (lights out at 10) to 6:30 am (wake up at 6). It is staffed and managed by Cool Aid’s professional shelter workers.

Residents have access to nutritious and hot soup, a place to sleep, and experienced, professional staff who are able to provide referrals and connections with community resources. The shelter strives to be welcoming, low barrier and is pet friendly.

Victorians who need to register for a space should contact Rock Bay Landing at 250-383-1951 or in person at 535 Ellice Street anytime.
