We provide skilled, temporary workers to businesses and homeowners to help with gardening and yard work, moving, painting, general office help, and a variety of other jobs.

What kinds of jobs are available?
Our labour pool offers a variety of jobs depending on your skills and interests. Common jobs are yard work and landscaping, moving assistance, painting, and general office work.

How much are your casual workers usually paid?
We ask that employers pay workers fair market value for the work performed. Most employers pay $25–$30/hour. The minimum wage in British Columbia is $17.40/hour.

How are workers paid?
Our labour pool coordinator will coordinate payment arrangements with employers when finalizing worker arrangements. Usually, workers are paid cash at the end of each work day, based on the hours worked.

If it’s offered to me, can I extend the work period or work for an employer permanently?
Absolutely! If an employer is pleased with your work, we encourage workers to make ongoing arrangements with them directly about future work.

Are Cool Aid Casual Labour Pool workers covered by WorkSafe BC?
Employers are responsible for WorkSafe BC coverage for casual workers. Please speak to Cool Aid’s labour pool coordinator for details.

Does Cool Aid’s Casual Labour Pool charge workers or employers any service fees or wage mark-ups?
No, our labour pool does not charge workers or employers fees for its services. Employers pay workers directly.
