Rising housing costs are putting significant pressure on many people in the capital region. The creation of affordable market rental housing helps to ensure that more people have the dignity that comes with a place to call home.
Affordable Market Rental Housing
Affordable near-market rental units are designed for low to moderate income earners and their families who may not qualify for subsidized housing. To be eligible, households must fall within a specific income range, ensuring access to housing that remains within their financial means.
General target average monthly income and income limits (as set by BC Housing):
Studio $3,700 (limit $7,100) monthly
One-bedroom $4,600 (limit $7,100) monthly
Two-bedroom $6,000 (limit $11,150) monthly
Three-bedroom $8,000 (limit $11,150) monthly
