Heather Brazier, Director
With a twenty-eight year career in the BC public service, Heather Brazier has considerable experience in social policy issues.

She has held several senior leadership positions in the public service.  Her current role is Executive Director of Policy and Legislation at Emergency Management BC.  Past roles have included Treasury Board Staff, Housing Policy, and the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.

Working on housing issues was one of the most rewarding experiences of Heather’s career.  She believes strongly in a housing first approach, as housing is absolutely fundamental to people’s well-being and to their ability to receive additional supports.   In her role as a Cool Aid board member, Heather is excited to be part of a community of caring individuals working to assist vulnerable individuals.

Heather has a BA in Economics and a Masters in Public Administration, both from the University of Victoria.  She is an avid skier and sailor.  She is a past Board Secretary at the Royal Victoria Yacht Club and is currently a member of its Leadership Development Committee.
